Head of rural administration assassinated in Abkhazia

Igor Dzhindzholiya, administration head of Mukhur village, Tkuarchal District of Abkhazia, was killed today at night, at about 2 a.m. Moscow time.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed about it by Ruslan Delba, head of the Tkuarchal District Interior Department (ROVD).

According to the ROVD head, Igor Dzhindzholiya was characterized by residents of the village and neighbours as a kind and decent person.

We note here that Igor Dzhindzholiya was born in 1963. Prior to the onset of the Georgian-Abkhazian war he was a churchman. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent informs that he was the person who shot down the first Georgian aircraft that had bombed the village of Markula, Ochamchir District, after the start of the Georgian-Abkhazian war.

His nickname "Sacred" survived from the days of the war. After it Igor Dzhindzholiya did not return to the church, but remained a deep believer. He headed the administration of the village of Mukhur.
