Suicide motives of an Armenian girl of 19 investigated in Nalchik

The parents of Armenian girl Anaida Ch., 19, who committed suicide on July 18 by jumping from the 12th floor of one of high blocks in Nalchik, have learned that the suicide motive was a rape committed on their daughter, but for the third month already they fail to achieve the appropriate investigation into the incident.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the editorial board of the "Erkramas" newspaper of Russian Armenians of Russia that according to the parents of the girl, who was a student with honours at the Economic Department of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University, one day before the prior to tragedy she was raped by a certain M., a resident of the city of Tyrnyauz and her slight acquaintance.

Originally, in the course of investigation, the parents of the girl were told that her body had traces of man's violence one day old, and the biological analysis confirmed the fact. However, a week later the indication had changed.

The parents had to run their own investigation, and finally they found out the name and address of the supposed rapist.

Feeling no trust to the conclusion of local expertise, Anaida's parents demanded that the Prosecutor's Office send their daughter things to independent experts in Krasnodar. The Krasnodar experts were confident to state: biological matter is present, and it is urgently necessary to take blood for DNA test from the suspect.

However, the blood-sampling procedure was delayed for a long time, then, blood was sampled but with violations of the established procedures of sampling and storing.

The parents had nothing to do but to appear again at the city investigatory department and express their distrust to the inspector. Now, the case is in the hands of the third inspector, and all has started all over anew.

"It seems that the attitude to our case is such because we are Armenians. Should we be Balkarians or Kabardians with numerous relatives, everything would be quite different...," the parents of the perished Anaya Ch. say.
