Volgograd resident arrested for desecrating graves of SMO participants

In Volgograd, a court arrested a local resident for desecrating the graves of participants in the special military operation (SMO). After being detained, the accused man escaped from the police station and was put on the wanted list. The police managed to detain the man again on May 20.

In Volgograd, a young man and a young woman trampled wreaths and broke crosses on the graves of SMO participants perished in Ukraine.

The court arrested a man who deliberately damaged the graves of SMO participants and then escaped from the police, the “V1” portal reports with reference to the information released by the Traktorozavodsky District Court in Volgograd.

The court noted that the defendant, whose last name was Antonov, “deliberately cut off the flag of the Russian Federation and the imperial flag from the flagpole and also damaged the wreaths.” Earlier, the man had been repeatedly prosecuted for intentional crimes against other people’s property.
