Creation of Putin District strengthens cult of Russian President in Chechnya

In the conditions of tyranny with the implantation of the cults of Kadyrov's family and Russian President, the residents of Chechnya could not speak out against the creation of the Putin District, human rights defenders have stated after the report of the Grozny Mayoralty on almost unanimous approval of the above initiative.

A district named after Vladimir Putin will appear in Grozny, the head of Chechnya reported in his Telegram channel in February, four days later he announced that the Russian Special Forces University in Gudermes was also named after the Russian President.

Residents of the Sheikh-Mansur District of Grozny have supported the authorities' initiative, the Mayoralty has informed; a total of 34,705 citizens have allegedly voted for naming the district as "Putinsky".

Abubakar Yangulbaev, a lawyer, does not trust the polling results. According to his story, the republic has entered the stage of not just dictatorship, but aggressive tyranny. He is sure that the personality cult in the republic itself does not correspond to the traditions of Chechen culture.

The abuse of administrative resources and calls to vote for the incumbent president were recorded in Chechnya during the presidential election held on March 15-17. In particular, voters complained about being forced to vote.

An activist of the "Vayfond" Chechen human rights association agrees that it would be naive to trust such polls conducted in Chechnya. There, not only cult of Putin exists, but also of Ramzan Kadyrov and his father, the activist has emphasized. "But the people, of course, don't share either the personality cult of Putin or the cult of the Kadyrovs. Even the so-called 'Kadyrov people' themselves, who shout 'Akhmat is power', are also insincere in accepting the cult," he believes.
