Chechen authorities admit use of administrative resources at presidential election

The visiting rate of employees of the Chechen Ministry for Nationalities and of its subordinate institutions at polling stations in Grozny on the days of the presidential election was ensured in accordance with the Mayoralty's plan, which was ultimately exceeded, the ministry has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that abuse of administrative resources and calls to vote for the incumbent president were recorded in Chechnya during the presidential election. In particular, on March 17, voters complained about being forced to vote. Vladimir Putin won 98.99% of the votes in Chechnya, the Central Election Commission (CEC) has reported.

According to the plan of the Grozny Mayoralty, the above Ministry for Nationalities was to ensure voter turnout of 605 people every day on March 15-17, that is, 1815 voters in three days.

"In fact, 634 people were provided daily, that is, 1902 voters in three days, which is 105%," the official report says.

Also, "all employees of the ministry" and of its subordinate institutions "took an active part in the march in support of the election," the report has added.
