Tourist’s photo in Kaspiysk inflames moral fighters

A resident of Kaspiysk took a photograph of a tourist in a bathrobe resting on a balcony of a local hotel, after which moral fighters distributed the picture on social networks. The tourist said she would file a lawsuit, while social media users wrote comments criticizing moral activists for invading the tourist’s privacy.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that residents of Dagestan regularly complain on social networks about tourists, whose behaviour, in their opinion, does not correspond to the traditions of the republic. In June 2023, the Dagestani Ministry of Tourism issued a notice to guests, recommending that they wear “modest” clothing and follow the rules of behaviour.

A photo of a hotel visitor in Dagestan, relaxing on a balcony in a bathrobe, has been disseminated on Dagestani social networks. The woman intends to file a lawsuit for violation of her privacy, the Instagram* public account golos.dagestan_ reports.

“A person is relaxing in a hotel, on a balcony of her room. With the same success, a passerby could make photos of people in other windows, post them on the Internet, and condemn those people,” the Instagram* public account golos.dagestan_ notes.

“I’m so tired of those tourist hunters,” noted user 1985s16.04.

Let us remind you that in May 2023, a video was posted on social networks depicting a young woman posing topless against the backdrop of mountains in Dagestan. The woman deleted the pictures after receiving dozens of angry comments from residents of the republic.
