Pyatigorsk resident fined for pro-Ukrainian name of Wi-Fi network

Artyom Galidi from Pyatigorsk used a Ukrainian slogan, recognized as extremist in Russia, as the name of his Wi-Fi network. The court fined him 4000 roubles for displaying in public the symbols of extremist organizations.

The Pyatigorsk City Court of the Stavropol Territory reports on its official website that Artyom Galidi, being a company director, created a Wi-Fi network in his workshop, and chose its name using a slogan of the Ukrainian armed forces, recognized as extremist in Russia. Through the above-mentioned Wi-Fi network, Artyom Galidi “massively demonstrated to an unlimited number of users within the reach of a wi-fi signal the ideology of the organization of Ukrainian nationalists.” Artyom Galidi did not admit guilt.

Earlier, the “Caucasian Knot” has also reported that in March, a court in Krasnodar arrested a local resident for 30 days and fined him 250,000 roubles, recognizing that his posts in a messenger contained propaganda of Nazi paraphernalia and discredited the Russian Armed Forces.
