Chechen Minister Dudaev reacts to US sanctions

The US Treasury has included Akhmed Dudaev, the head of the Ministry of Nationalities of Chechnya, into the sanctions list. The Minister has stated that he fears only sanctions from Ramzan Kadyrov and the Almighty.

The USA have imposed restrictions on more than 500 individuals and entities on the occasion of the second anniversary of the start of the Russian special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine and in connection with the death of Alexei Navalny, the US Treasury has informed.

Minister Akhmed Dudaev has stated that he is "proud and happy" that the US had added him to the sanctions list, saying that it's a sign he is on the right path.

According to his story, he has never been to Western countries and never wanted to go there, the "Chechnya Today" News Agency has reported.

Let us recall that earlier Valid Kuruev, a former Deputy Mufti of Chechnya, who fell out of favour with Chechen authorities, was sent to Ukraine along with his son. The author of the comment on the "Caucasian Knot" has emphasized that Kuruev is not the first from Kadyrov's entourage who fell out of favour and was sent to the SMO zone.
