Government announces military centres in seven higher schools in Southern Russia
It was decided to set up students' military training centres at higher schools of Adygea, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Kalmykia, Karachay-Cherkessia and Chechnya.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in December 2022, Mikhail Mishustin, the Russian Prime Minister, ordered to create students' military training centres at 16 Russian universities, including in Grozny.
The "Novoye Delo" outlet has reported that it follows from the Russian Govt's order that it was decided to create such centres in 17 universities, including at the Dagestani State Technical University, the Grozny State Petroleum Technical University, the Ingush State University, the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Berbekov, the Kalmyk State University, the Maykop State Technological University and the North-Caucasian State Academy in Cherkessk.
Tamila Ragimova, the Acting Vice-Rector for Educational Work of the Dagestani State Technical University, said that the creation of the centre is supervised by the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD). Military professionals will manage the military training centre and teach military disciplines.
In September 2024, the centre will recruit more than 100 students, who, along with the basic training, will receive military ranks and specialties.
