No reaction to violations of journalists' rights in Makhachkala disappoints Sevrinovsky

Those responsible for violating journalists' rights during the anti-mobilization rally in Makhachkala were not punished at all, Vladimir Sevrinovsky, a journalist, has noted in his comment on the court's ruling to terminate proceedings on his complaint about investigators' inaction.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that for more than a year investigators refused to register Sevrinovsky's application about his illegal detention at the above anti-mobilization rally held in September 2022.

"The goal, of course, has not been achieved. Those who commit lawlessness and false witnesses continue wearing their shoulder straps, but I initially had no illusions that in the current Russian conditions they would suffer their well-deserved punishments," the journalist has stated.

Let us remind you that large-scale protests against mobilization took place in Makhachkala on September 25 and 26, 2023. The journalists who covered the rallies were also taken to the police. Vladimir Sevrinovsky was among them; he was arrested for five days.
