Woman from Taganrog arrested in criminal case of discrediting militaries

A court in Taganrog has placed Irina Skorovarova, who was detained within a criminal case for discrediting the Russian Army, under house arrest for two months.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 11, 2024, law enforcers came to Irina Skorovarova with a search within a criminal case about discrediting the Russian Army.

The reason for persecuting her was in the video about a Russian military man posted in Skorovarova's page in the Odnoklassniki social network, the human rights project "OVD-Info"* has reported in its website. She faces up to five years of freedom deprivation.

Let us remind you that in March 2023, Skorovarova was fined under an administrative article on discrediting the Russian Army for her pacifist post placed in a social network. She stated that she had not discredited the Russian Army, but the court found her guilty.
