Krasnodar resident detained for justifying terror act

Agents of the FSB (Russian Federal Security Service) have detained a man in Krasnodar who spoke favourably about the explosion on the Crimean Bridge in a social network.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the explosion on the Crimean Bridge was committed on October 8, 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin treated the explosion as a terror act; and the FSB named the head of Ukrainian military intelligence as the organizer of the act. Besides, on July 17, 2023, the Crimean Bridge was attacked by two Ukrainian water surface drones.

The man, whom law enforcers detained in Krasnodar, is charged with publicly justifying terrorism on the Internet. According to the FSB, he placed a post about the explosion on the Crimean Bridge, the human rights project "OVD-Info"* has reported.

The article under which the case was filed against the Krasnodar resident provides for five to seven years of freedom deprivation.

"The detainee posted materials in one of social networks justifying terrorism, namely, he approved of the explosion on the Crimean Bridge," the portal "No to Extremism!" has reported.
