After school attack, natives from Caucasus face threats of expulsion from France

After the attack on a school in the city of Arras, about 60 people, including natives from Northern Caucasus, will be expelled from France, the French Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has announced.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 13, a teacher was killed in a school located in the city of Arras, and two more people were stabbed. The attacker, according to the BFMTV, was a 20-year-old native of Chechnya.

The French MIA has received permission from President Emmanuel Macron to expel about 60 people who are on the "S list" for radical Islamism, Gerald Darmanin, the MIA head, has stated, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project reports.

The above list also includes Russians – immigrants from Chechnya and other republics of Northern Caucasus.

Back in 2008, the Mogushkov family came to France from Ingushetia and applied for refugee status. They were denied it in 2013. The Mogushkovs were prepared for deportation, but they refused to board the plane, the "Kommersant" writes.

Public organizations came to the aid of the Mogushkovs; and eventually their deportation was cancelled. However, in 2018, the father, whom authorities treated as a radical, was expelled from the country.

In 2019, Mokhamed Mogushkov's older brother was exposed of having links with the terrorists, who had been plotting an attack on the presidential palace. He was sentenced to six years in prison. Mokhamed Mogushkov has been on the "S list" for a year now.
