Compensation for Krasnodar resident's death in prison hospital awarded to his widow

A court in Rostov-on-Don has ordered the medical unit of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN) to pay 300,000 roubles to Natalia Baksheeva, a resident of Krasnodar, who had claimed compensation for her husband's death in a prison hospital.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Dmitry Baksheev, a Krasnodar resident, convicted of murder, died on February 16, 2020, in a tuberculosis hospital, according to the FSIN's version, from an exacerbation of his chronic diseases. But the advocates believed that Baksheev died because of not receiving the necessary insulin injections, and demanded to investigate the circumstances of his death. The court found Lusine Grigoryan, an endocrinologist, guilty of Baksheev's death.

The widow of Dmitry Baksheev has achieved compensation for his death, but instead of the claimed 5 million roubles, she was awarded 300,000 roubles, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project has reported.

Let us remind you that Natalia and Dmitry Baksheev were detained on suspicion of murdering a woman. During the search, parts of the dismembered body were seized, but the spouses rejected any suspicions of cannibalism. In 2019, the court found Natalia Baksheeva guilty of inciting to murder and sentenced her to 10 years in colony; Dmitry was sentenced to 12 years and 2 months in prison, finding him guilty of committing the murder and desecration of the dead body.

The disinformation about the involvement of the Baksheevs in 30 murders and cannibalism was spread through the media by law enforcers, while the examination results of the meat extracted from the spouses' refrigerator are contradictory, their advocates have stated.
