Defence criticizes proofs in Nozdrinov's case

The court that considers the case of Alexander Nozdrinov, a journalist from Kuban (Krasnodar Territory) has examined the material proofs that have nothing to do with the charge against him of discrediting the Russian Army, including broken phones and carriers with family information, the advocate has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Alexander Nozdrinov has been charged within a criminal case on discrediting the Russian Army. His relatives assert that his prosecution has to do with his civic position. On May 4, it became known that his defence had presented proofs of his innocence to the court.

The court has removed two of Nozdrinov's three public defenders, including his wife Ekaterina. Also, the judge continues ignoring the involvement of his advocates in other trials; and because of this, the next session on the case will be disrupted, Natalia Volivach, one of the advocates, has suggested.

On May 17, it became known that law enforcers had searched Ekaterina Nozdrinova's home as part of the case initiated under the article "Fraud in the sphere of lending"; the case was opened after she began defending her husband and was unable to pay off the loans that she had to take after Alexander's arrest. Law enforcers took away a broken computer and a non-working phone; Ekaterina believes that the criminal case against her was a revenge for supporting her husband.

Let us remind you that on March 14, 2023, Alexander Isavnin, an expert, spoke in court. In his opinion, there is reason to assert that the proofs presented by the prosecution "show signs of editing and falsification."

In March 2022, at detention, Alexander Nozdrinov was beaten up. Initially, he was arrested within an administrative case on disobedience to DPS (traffic police) inspectors; and then – within a criminal case. The reason was in his posting a photo of a destroyed high-rise building in Kyiv with a caption criticizing the actions of Russian militaries.
