Chechen authorities report reconciliation of 2395 divorced couples

In Chechnya, special commissions have reunited 2395 divorced couples, the administration of the head of the republic has reported. Commentators in the social networks have doubted the strength of marriages restored at authorities' demand.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2017, by an order of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, commissions were set up to resolve family conflicts. However, analysts believe that family reunifications are made under pressure, which is often traumatic for those who have chosen to divorce.

The "Chechnya Info" News Agency has reported, with reference to the department for relations with religious and public organizations of the administration of the head and government of Chechnya, that since 2017, the above commissions have reunited 2395 divorced couples in the republic.

However, as stated by Ismail Elmerzaev, the head of the above department, after the reunion, no one can guarantee that the couple won't divorce again.

"After certain prophylactic measures, no one has the right to interfere in family's private life," the "Chechnya Today" News Agency quotes him as saying.
