Mother of Rasul Kudaev, resident from Kabardino-Balkaria on trial, asserts that her son is punished for his complaints

Rasul Kudaev, an inmate of SIZO-1 (pre-trial facility) of Nalchik, was transferred into a dungeon till August 30, Fatima Tekaeva, Rasul's mother, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent and added:

"I think that Rasul is punished for his standing for his rights and appealing to mass media and human rights activists. I think that my son is purposely ruined, they make everything to starve him to death before the trial, since I'm sure he is innocent and the court would acquit him."

It has been reported earlier that Rasul Kudaev announced a hunger strike. In his letter from the SIZO Rasul Kudaev wrote: "I'm on a hunger strike for the fifth day. I demand to call a public prosecutor but they wouldn't. I demanded to register the traces of beating on me, but they wait until the traces get cured. They pretended to have fixed the traces, for me to stop the hunger strike, but then they stated that the documents on the beatings 'were lost'."

On this fact, Ms Tekaeva has also sent an application to the Public Prosecutor in charge of supervising the prisoners' custody conditions.

Advocate Magomed Abubakarov has also informed that on August 10 he addressed the Prosecutor's Office of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic on the fact of Rasul Kudaev's beating.
