Authorities of Georgia move opposition party out of its office

The authorities of Georgia are inclined to deprive the oppositional "Party of National Independence" of its central office. Currently, the political organization has received an official notification of the Ministry of Economic Development. It prescribes to leave the building located in the centre of Georgian capital in Machabeli Street before August 18, 2007.

Meanwhile, the oppositionists are not going to abandon the premise and claim for indemnification. "The government of Georgia transferred the said premises to the Party in 1999. The 'Party of National Independence of Georgia' occupies it on legal grounds and possesses all the necessary documents. In this regard, within the next few days the Party intends to bring a claim against the Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia to the Tbilisi City Court," the IA "New Region" quotes Irakliy Tsereteli, Chairman of the "Party of National Independence of Georgia."
