Father of Magomed-Ali Sultanov murdered in Dagestan urges to stop protests

The father of Magomed-Ali Sultanov, a resident of Kayakent, who was killed in a brawl, has expressed his gratitude to fellow villagers for their support. The father has noted that all his demands have been met; and those who call for new protests are pursuing their own goals.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 24, relatives of Magomed-Ali Sultanov, who was killed in a brawl, said that the attackers were trying to avoid punishment. Villagers feared that those involved in the teenager's murder could remain at large. On January 2, at a gathering, the young man's relatives demanded that investigators find and punish all those involved in the crime.

According to investigators, on November 10, in the village of Usemikent, Kayakent District, the accused person inflicted many blows with a knife on a 19-year-old local resident, who died on the spot from his wounds. According to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), there was only one attacker, but the video released by the police shows that four people were involved in the brawl.

The Telegram channel of the administration of the Kayakent District posted a message stating that calls are being spread in the network to gather for new rallies, which are held by relatives of the murdered Magomed-Ali Sultanov. "Having learned about this, his father called the head of the district with a request to record an official video appeal," says the message.

The father has expressed his gratitude for the support. "All the demands, not only mine, but also yours, have been met ... I have even received information that some bad people want to use the fact that we have gathered for other purposes. I don't know what goals they pursue, but I ask you – don't give in, don't listen to anyone," the father has stated.
