Relatives of Azamat Gorbakov, detained in Ingushetia, deny his involvement in criminal activities

On May 13 in the city of Karabulak, Ingushetia, a special targeted operation was conducted by employees of the FSB Department for the Republic jointly with representatives of the Department for Public Safety of the RF Ministry of Internal Affairs and Investigatory group of the RF State Office of Public Prosecutor for the South Federal District (SFD), as a result of which Azamat Gorbakov, a local resident of 24, was detained.

In his turn, Azamat's father Arsemat Gorbakov denies any participation of his son in indicted crimes. He asserts that the things confiscated during the search do not belong to the members of his family, and the place, where a grenade was found, is not a part of his yard, but refers to the empty land plot adjacent to Gorbakovs' household.

On May 17, the father filed a respective application to the representative office of the HRC "Memorial" in Nazran, in which he informed that on May 13 armed people in masks rushed into his house. They did not present themselves. Everyone who was in the house was put under the sight of sub-machine guns; then, they started a search of the house, having brought two soldiers with them as witnesses.

One of the power agents said that Azamat Gorbakov was suspected of an armed attack on the inspector of the State Office of Public Prosecutor. After the search, the power agents drew up a protocol, but did not leave any copy to the owners of the house. They also said nothing about Azamat's detention and the place, where he would be delivered.
