Conservative Party of Georgia demands response from the Prosecutor-General's Office on Robakidze's case

The Georgian Conservative Party requests an answer from the Prosecutor-General's Office on the case of Amiran Robakidze, Kakha Kukava, leader of the Conservatives, has told journalists at today's press conference.

"We are going to address our deputies' request to the Prosecutor and ask an explanation at what stage the case is and why so far, after two years of investigation, the law enforcement bodies have no suspects and no detainees," Mr Kukava said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Under the law, the Prosecutor-General's Office will have 15 days to respond to this sort of request.

According to Soso Robakidze, father of the victim, they plan to close the case in August.

We remind you that patrol policeman Grigol Bashaleishvili shot dead Amiran Robakidze, 19, on November 23, 2004. It was proved later that the whole case was fabricated, and the policeman confessed that he had killed an armless person "carelessly, by inadvertence." Finally, the former patrol policeman Grigol Bashaleishvili was sentenced to four years of imprisonment only for "careless arm handling."
