After absence of Kremlin's reaction, Kadyrov disavows his resignation statement

By means of his possible resignation, Ramzan Kadyrov wanted to spur his career advancement, but failing to receive the expected reaction, he declared that he would stay in office, analysts believe.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 3, Kadyrov announced that he had "stayed too long" as the head of Chechnya and was ready to resign. The Kremlin saw Kadyrov's message, but it "hadn't materialized yet," said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President. Analysts have suggested that Kadyrov's words about leaving for termless vacation would be followed by an appointment to some federal-level position. On September 6, Kadyrov stated that he had no right to leave his post without asking the people and Vladimir Putin.

Kadyrov acts as "the master of his word," says Sergey Zhavoronkov, an economist. "He gave his word and took it back. This is the normal logic of all dictators," he believes.

Kadyrov can afford what none of heads of other Russian regions can; and this is the main point in "this plot," says Evgeny Minchenko, the head of the "Minchenko Consulting" Research Centre.

Andrei Gusiy, a political analyst, believes that by recalling his statement, Kadyrov again proved himself not to be the most far-sighted politician.

It is known that the Kremlin and Vladimir Putin give no response to "extortions," Mr Gusiy believes. If Kadyrov didn't try to "knock out" anything, then his actions look like childishness, the analyst has added.
