Menyailo demands to recruit detachments of volunteers to be sent to Ukraine

The heads of the regions of North Ossetia should form detachments of volunteers to be sent to Ukraine, and this is a new criterion for evaluating the work of municipal officials, Sergey Menyailo, the leader of the republic, announces.

Today, during an operational meeting, Sergey Menyailo, the leader of North Ossetia, has instructed the district administrations to form new military units in addition to the two battalions already involved in the special military operation in Ukraine, the TASS reports.

The leader of North Ossetia has noted that the order has been agreed with the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD). “You should create personal military units in your districts: a platoon, a squadron, a battery. We are now forming another detachment ... We will provide them with everything necessary, from equipment to weapons,” the leader of the republic said.

At present, two Ossetian battalions are involved in the special military operation, one of them has been in Ukraine for four months, and the second – for the second month.

The leader of the republic instructed the heads of districts to report on the interim results of the formation of volunteer detachments as early as Friday (September 2). “Your activities in terms of supporting our compatriots will also be assessed based on the staffing of military units,” noted the leader of the region as quoted by the TASS.
