Pickets in support of journalist Gadjiev supported by residents of Makhachkala

Today, in Makhachkala, passers-by and drivers of cars have expressed their support to participants of solo pickets in defence of arrested Abdulmumin Gadjiev, colleagues of the journalist and activist Salim Khalitov said. The police did not try to interfere with the protest actions.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that colleagues of Abdulmumin Gadjiev regularly hold pickets in Makhachkala in support of him. Today, Magomed Magomedov and Magdy Kamalov, the deputy editor-in-chief and the founder of the weekly newspaper “Chernovik” (Rough Draft), respectively, have held solo pickets.

Magomed Magomedov has said that the police did not try to interfere with the protest action. According to him, the attention from passers-by and drivers of cars passing by was “at a high level.”

The reaction of the police to the picket of the founder of the “Chernovik” was also “calm,” said Magdy Kamalov. According to him, law enforcers make attempts to prevent the pickets only when some top-ranking officials arrive.

Let us remind you that on May 9, law enforcers disrupted the picket held by Magdy Kamalov in support of Abdulmumin Gadjiev, and the founder of the “Chernovik” had to come to a police department.
