Chechnya allots 47 million roubles for search of missing people

Under the order of the leader of the Republic, about 50 million roubles have been allotted from the Republic's budget to the machinery of the Ombudsman in Chechnya for search of missing people.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt about it from a source in the machinery of the President and Government of the Republic. The money will be spent to purchase of a special laboratory for human remains identifications and train the specialists.

"In the opinion of a number of experts, some of the citizens who are regarded as missing could have been killed, and their remains are in burial places, where the persons were buried whose personalities could not be identified," the official explained. "The purchase of the equipment for a special laboratory will enable to solve the problem at least to a certain extent."

Earlier, Nurdi Nukhazhiev, Ombudsman of Chechnya, has stated that during two military campaigns, about 4,500 persons were registered as missing in the territory of the Chechen Republic.
