Ingush activist Myakiev points to inconsistencies in his case to the court

The video that was examined at the trial failed to show the face of the man who threw chairs at the "Rosgvardiya" (Russian National Guard) fighters; moreover, he did it with his right hand, which contradicts the indictment, Bagaudin Myakiev, an activist, has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 18, the Fifth Court of Cassation in Pyatigorsk cancelled the verdict to Bagaudin Myakiev, who has been convicted on charges of attacking law enforcers at a rally in Magas, and sent the case for a new consideration.

Bagaudin Myakiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that at the court session on June 7, the video material presented by the prosecution was examined.

"There (at the rally), a man in a dark jacket and a blue hat with white stripes, standing with his back to the video camera, throws two chairs. They claim that it was me. But there were half a rally dressed in such clothes. No face is seen in the video. From the very beginning I claimed that it was not me. [...] When we watched the video, my advocate specifically drew the court's attention to the fact that the man in the video took and threw a chair with his right hand. The judge recorded this fact, as we asked. We noted that investigators' materials indicate that I threw chairs with my left hand! This is an obvious inconsistency," Bagaudin Myakiev has stated.

He has complained that the prosecution failed to bring witnesses to the court, and just read out their written testimonies. "For some reason, we must believe to what they read out. I think that it deserves no trust. But the outcome of the trial is already clear – the judge satisfies all the prosecutor's petitions and has no questions to him," Mr Myakiev has concluded.
