Opposition accuses Pashinyan of manipulating data on war losses

Authorities have several times made public the death toll of Armenian soldiers in the autumn war in Nagorno-Karabakh in an attempt to hide the true number of casualties, the participants in a rally in Yerevan have stated, adding that Nikol Pashinyan should be held responsible for deaths of Armenian military servicemen.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 31, the opposition held a rally demanding Pashinyan's resignation.

Pashinyan is responsible for the deaths of Armenian soldiers in the autumn war in Karabakh, Edgar Kazaryan, a former Armenia's Ambassador to Poland, has stated. The ruling party has published combat losses for many times, and each time, as he asserts, they were different.

"For the first time, the data was voiced out by Mikael Minasyan, a former Armenia's Ambassador to Vatican. According to his version, a total of 4750 people died in the war in Artsakh (the self-name of Nagorno-Karabakh)," Mr Kazaryan has announced.

On June 7, 2021, Pashinyan stated that the death toll was around 3700.

Edgar Kazaryan has accused Pashinyan of manipulating combat losses data. According to Kazaryan, there can be no inaccuracies in the data about the army.
