Dagestan gets 4550 tickets within Russia's Hajj quota

All 4550 places allocated to Dagestan within Russia's 2022 Hajj quota have already been filled with applications, despite an increased pilgrimage cost, a source from the Hajj operator "Marva Tour" has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 22 it became known that Saudi Arabia had halved the Hajj quota for Russian Muslims. Overall, 11,318 Russian Muslims will be able to make the pilgrimage to Mecca this year.

Among them, there are 4,550 Dagestanis; and the whole quota has already been covered with applications, Bulat Kurbanov, an employee of the "Marva Tour" Company, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

He has added that 1000 places out of the total of 4550 ones allocated for Dagestan will be financed as charity by Senator, Suleiman Kerimov.

Mr Kurbanov has noted that this year, as in previous ones, the Dagestani total quota turned out to be less than the total number of applications received from those wishing to make the Hajj.

This year, the minimum cost of a Hajj travel is USD 4700. According to Bulat Kurbanov, in 2022, Saudi Arabia significantly raised the service tariffs, which in turn affected the final cost of each travel.
