Number of detainees in Yerevan reaches 286

Other 131 activists have been detained at a protest held in Yerevan, the Armenian capital, bringing the total number of detainees up to 286, the police have informed. The opposition announced the end of street protests.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today the opposition has resumed marches in Yerevan demanding the resignation of the government. Activists have blocked streets, and law enforcers began detaining protesters for "disobedience to lawful policemen's demands."

Today, the opposition "has completely fulfilled the preset task," the Vice Speaker, Ishkhan Sagatelyan has announced and thanked all the activists who have taken to the streets today.

"Nikol Pashinyan no longer has power in Armenia; and the police's brutal force cannot suppress the people," Mr Sagatelyan has stated.

Levon Kocharyan, a son of Robert Kocharyan, a former country's president, has reported his detention at an action in Yerevan, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
