Armenian opposition starts blocking state institutions

The oppositional "Resistance" movement has held disobedience actions in Yerevan. They blocked for an hour one of the government buildings, where a number of Armenian ministries are located. Activists will periodically block state institutions until Nikol Pashinyan resigns, oppositionists have claimed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since April 25, the Armenian opposition has been holding rallies, marches and car rallies, demanding not to admit any revision of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh, and resignation of Nikol Pashinyan's government.

On May 13 at 4:00 p.m. local time, the protesters against Nikol Pashinyan began their disobedience actions in Yerevan. They marched from France Square to the third block of government buildings, where they blocked all the entrances and exits thereof.

A police cordon was lined up in front of the building, but protesters broke through it and ran towards the main entrance.

Police managed to keep the activists off the entrance; however, all the entrances and exits were blocked for an hour.

Ishkhan Sagatelyan, a vice-speaker of the parliament from the "Aiastan" bloc, addressed ministries' employees urging them "to write their resignation applications." Mr Sagatelyan has noted that protests, including blocking state institutions, will continue until Nikol Pashinyan resigns.
