Parliament of Nagorno-Karabakh calls on Armenians to unite

Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia should unite in order to jointly defend their national interests and face threats, the MPs of the People's Assembly (Parliament) of the unrecognized republic have stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of Armenia are holding actions demanding from their authorities to recognize of the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh. On April 5, in Yerevan, the opposition parliamentary factions "Aiastan" and "I have the honour" held a many thousand strong rally, at which they accused Armenian authorities of new territorial concessions.

Nikol Pashinyan, the Armenian Prime Minister, earlier announced Armenia's readiness to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan.

The call for unification and struggle for the recognition of Karabakh was voiced out by the participants of the rally, held on April 4 in the city of Askeran. The action was organized on the initiative of the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun", the party's newspaper "Aparazh" has reported. According to organizers, more than 100 people came to the rally.

"The purpose of the rally is to unite everyone for the sake of our statehood and preservation of our independence," Alyosha Gabrielyan, one of the organizers, has stated.

We should remind you that on April 4, a rally was also held in Yerevan. Supporters of the "5165" Party demanded to recognize the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh.
