Activist Erdneev gets second fine under article on discrediting Russian armed forces

A court in Elista again imposed a fine on Aducha Erdneev, an activist of the Congress of the Oirat-Kalmyk people, for discrediting the Russian army. No evidence of discrediting was submitted in court, and the decision will be challenged, says Aducha Erdneev.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on March 28, the Elista City Court fined Aducha Erdneev, the deputy chair of the Congress of the Oirat-Kalmyk people, 30,000 roubles under the article on discrediting the armed forces.

The Elista City Court fined Aducha Erdneev 30,000 roubles for signing an appeal posted on March 10 to compatriots not to participate in the special military operation in Ukraine. In addition to Aducha Erdneev, the appeal was signed by Arslang Sandjiev, the chair of the Congress of the Oirat-Kalmyk people, and his deputies Batyr Boromangnaev and Vladimir Dovdanov, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent was informed by Aducha Erdneev.

“The case was considered by the same judge as on March 28. The policeman explained, as he did last time, that I was being held accountable for (pacifist) slogans. Again, he did not explain how these phrases discredited the armed forces. Nevertheless, I was found guilty again. The result is predictable. But we will go to the end anyway: we will continue to sue, in all possible court instances,” Aducha Erdneev said.
