Nagorno-Karabakh Ombudsperson reports about 14 wounded militaries

Fourteen military servicemen of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defence Army have been wounded by the drones used by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, Gegam Stepanyan, the Karabakh Ombudsperson has announced. The Nagorno-Karabakh General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) has opened a criminal case on the fact of violation of the territorial integrity of the unrecognized republic.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on Friday (March 25), Nagorno-Karabakh authorities announced that at night Azerbaijani militaries shelled the positions of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defence Army, where one Armenian soldier was wounded.

On March 24, the information headquarters of the unrecognized republic stated that Azerbaijani militaries had violated the contact line in the Askeran District of Nagorno-Karabakh; and women and children were evacuated from the communities of Parukh and Khramort. Azerbaijani militaries have occupied the village of Parukh in the Askeran District, the village head has informed. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has refuted the reports about any advance of Azerbaijani troops in Karabakh.

"Some of the wounded servicemen were deliberately attacked by drones when they tried to help their wounded colleagues," Mr Stepanyan has stated.

According to his story, "actions against militaries during the truce should be regarded as crimes and violations of the international humanitarian law."
