Analysts point to specificities of Chechen fighters' training

Chechen fighters of the "Rosgvardiya" (Russian National Guard) differ from ordinary law enforcers in the level of training, but it is still not enough to participate in hostilities, since the experience of fighting terrorism in the Caucasus is not applicable in the special operation in Ukraine, analysts have noted.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 16, Alexander Khodakovsky, the commander of the "Vostok" (East) battalion of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), criticized Chechen fighters for their poor training.

On March 14, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, confirmed that the earlier posted video about his presence in the special operation zone in Ukraine was filmed in the Kiev Region. He also said that his adviser, Adam Delimkhanov, is in Ukraine too. The posted videos about Kadyrov's and Delimkhanov's travels to Ukraine were elements of propaganda and promotion, analysts have added.

What is really known about the participation of Chechen law enforcers, about their losses and statements of the republic's leadership, – read the details in the reference material of the "Caucasian Knot".

Pavel Felgengauer, a military analyst, was sceptical about the training level of Chechen law enforcers for full-scale battles. "They performed mainly some guarding functions ... The older generation had the needed experience some twenty years ago, but the new one has practically none. They haven't fought in Chechnya for a long time," Mr Felgengauer has explained.

In his opinion, Chechen fighters are very cautious during the special operation in Ukraine. "Kadyrov himself said that personnel losses should be avoided," Pavel Felgengauer has added.

In his turn, Alexander Khramchikhin, an analyst, has stressed that Chechen law enforcers' experience of combating militants in the Caucasus is of little use for the special operation in Ukraine.

Let us remind you that on February 27, Kadyrov criticized the Russian leadership for the slowness and inefficiency of hostilities in Ukraine and called on Vladimir Putin "to start a large-scale operation throughout Ukraine."
