Mezhidov's new video points to Kadyrov fighters' secondary role in Ukraine

Chechen special fighters continue screening localities in Ukraine, Khusein Mezhidov, the commander of the battalion "Yug" (South), has reported. The report is illustrated with a video of another conversation of Chechen law enforcers with residents of a Ukrainian dwelling settlement.

In Ukraine, units of Chechen fighters play only an auxiliary role; they perform cleansings and screening of localities, and guard facilities; they don't perform the functions of assault squads or military police, the experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" have pointed out after the report of the head of Chechnya on the capture of a settlement by Kadyrov's fighters.

"The Chechen special fighters under the command of Khusein Mezhidov continue their glorious campaign ... Not a single local resident has expressed a single drop of indignation against Chechen fighters. On the contrary, the local population always greets our fighters with great hospitality and friendliness," Ramzan Kadyrov has announced in his Telegram channel.

The first evidence of the presence of Chechen militaries in Ukraine appeared on February 26.
