Azerbaijan reports about shootouts in Nagorno-Karabakh and at border with Armenia

The positions of the Azerbaijani troops were shelled from the territory controlled by the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh and from the side of Armenia, and the Azerbaijani armed forces opened return fire, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijani reported.

On March 6, Azerbaijan reported about shelling attacks on its positions in the Agdam District. On March 5, Baku also reported about a night shelling attack on the positions in the Goranboy District.

Over a day, the Azerbaijani positions were shelled 23 times from the territory where Russian peacekeepers were deployed, the Azerbaijani MoD reported.

The positions of the Azerbaijani army were shelled “in the Goranboy, Terter, Agdam, and Khodjaly directions.”

Furthermore, the positions of the Azerbaijani army near the border with Armenia, not far from the village of Demirchidam in the Kelbadjar District, were shelled from the positions in the village of Zyarkend in the Basarkechyar District (the Gegarkunik District of Armenia, – note of the “Caucasian Knot”).

The Azerbaijani armed forces took “adequate response measures,” there were no casualties, the MoD of Azerbaijan reports.
