Abkhazia recognizes DPR's and LPR's independence

Aslan Bzhaniya, the president of Abkhazia, has signed decrees recognizing the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR) and instructed the government to start preparing for signing the treaties of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance with these republics.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 21, Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the LPR and DPR. In the event that Russia incorporates them, the same path will open for Abkhazia and South Ossetia, political analysts have pointed out.
