Instagram users in Chechnya support campaign against Yashin

Lambert Muzurov, a journalist of the “Grozny” state-run TV Channel, publicly criticized Moscow oppositionist Ilya Yashin for posting a petition calling for the dismissal of Ramzan Kadyrov. The journalist announced a response petition for the Ilya Yashin’s resignation. Social media users approved of the Lambert Muzurov’s position.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ilya Yashin, a Moscow oppositional politician, has launched the above petition for Kadyrov's resignation. The petition addressed to President Putin was posted on the “Change.org’ website on February 6. In his petition, Ilya Yashin justified his demand, among other things, by threats pronounced by Chechen leadership to the Yangulbaev family.

Read the “Caucasian Knot” reference material “How Yangulbaevs became Kadyrov’s enemies” to find how the conflict began, what accusations Ramzan Kadyrov voiced, what the Yangulbaev family answered the leader of Chechnya, and what role in the development of the situation was played by an opposition Telegram channel.

On February 17, on his Instagram page, Lambert Muzurov posted a video criticizing Ilya Yashin. In particular, the journalist reproached Ilya Yashin for “spilling dirt” and “being far from the real picture happening in Chechnya.”

Akhmed Dudaev, Minister of Information of Chechnya, reposted the above video on February 17. “Instead of minding his own business and solving the problems of his electorate, this person, named Ilya, is trying to score political points at the expense of Ramzan Kadyrov and the Chechen people,” the video caption says.

Instagram users found the video posted by the journalist of the “Grozny” ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company) convincing. “Lambert, well done, a very good countermeasure,” wrote, in particular, user artur_algaev. “He (Ilya Yashin) needed a PR campaign and a mention, so he decided to talk about us,” suggested user abukhazh94.

“Yashin, apparently, is losing ground, since by hook or by crook he is trying to raise his rating at the expense of our republic!” user yandarova_ayza expressed her opinion.
