Protester against OSAGO increase detained in Yerevan

Today, motorists have held another protest action in Yerevan against the increase in OSAGO (mandatory motor civic insurance) tariffs. One of the protesters was detained for pasting leaflets.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 27, the Armenian Insurers' Bureau announced an increase in the basic OSAGO tariff. On January 31, motorists held a protest action in Yerevan against the tariff increase; five people were detained.

Today, motorists have held another protest action in Yerevan against the tariff increase, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has reported referring to the live broadcast of the "Factor.am" portal.

Today, several dozens of motorists gathered at the "Razdan" Stadium in Yerevan, from where they drove by motorcade to the building of the Armenia Central Bank, located not far from the complex of government buildings. The police pulled additional forces, including special fighters, to the venue. Law enforcers set up a cordon in front of the entrance to the Central Bank. The traffic was blocked due to the large number of cars. The protesters demanded a meeting with officials of the Central Bank, but no one came out to them.

Law enforcers have detained one of the protesters, who stuck a leaflet on a pole with the inscription "It won't rise in price".
