Two brothers detained on suspicion of armed attack on man in Cherkessk

In the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR), law enforcers have detained two local residents suspected of an armed attack with shooting on a resident of Cherkessk, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the KChR has reported. Both suspects were detained on January 31.

They turned out to be the residents of the village of Khurzuk, born in 1994 and 1999. The detainees were taken to an investigator in Cherkessk, where during interrogation they gave confessions, the MIA of the KChR reported on its website.

The attack was committed on January 29 in the central Cherkessk. At 8:30 p.m. Moscow time, near No. 23 in Lenin Avenue, the brothers attacked a 34-year-old resident of the city; one of the attackers fired at least two shots from a firearm at the man, after which the attackers hit the victim with objects used as weapons. The man was taken to a medical facility with two gunshot wounds, the press service of the MIA of the KChR has informed.

A criminal case has been initiated against the brothers, the Investigating Department for the KChR of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has reported today.
