Bill on territory status brought into Nagorno-Karabakh Parliament

The National Assembly (Parliament) of Nagorno-Karabakh has received a bill providing for the assignment of a legal status to the territories that came under Azerbaijan's control.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh lasted from September 27 to November 9, 2020. As a result, Stepanakert lost control over two thirds of its territory that passed over to Azerbaijan. Please see these territories on the map prepared by the "Caucasian Knot".

On January 30, Tevan Pogosyan, the chairman of the Human Development Centre, reported that the above bill providing for the assignment of a legal status to the territories that have come under Azerbaijan's control, has been submitted to the Nagorno-Karabakh National Assembly (Parliament) for consideration.

Mr Pogosyan has expressed hope that the bill will be adopted in the first reading at the upcoming session on February 16, and the final approval will take place on February 20, the "Sputnik Armenia" reports.
