Officer of Kadyrov police regiment explains his words about “invaders” in Grozny

A post mentioning the thousands of “invaders” killed during an assault on Grozny by federal troops in 1994 was about terrorists and war criminals, says Captain Ilyas Soltaev from the Akhmat Kadyrov special-purpose police regiment. According to him, the posted phrase was misinterpreted by “Internet provocateurs.”

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on December 31, 1994, federal troops attempted to seize Grozny. On the 25th anniversary of the assault of Grozny, eyewitnesses of those events mentioned continuous shooting and their awareness of the beginning of a real war.

Police Captain Ilyas Soltaev from the Akhmat Kadyrov special-purpose police regimen stated that his phrase about the events of December 31, 1994, were distorted by “Internet provocateurs,” since not only militaries, but also “ordinary Russian civilians” suffered during the assault of Grozny.

According to Police Captain Soltaev, instead of complaining about his post, “the provocateurs should have expressed their position or asked him what he wanted to say with his post.” “I did not say a single bad word to representatives of any nation. Before trying to find a reason for a scandal in my words, they should have asked me what I was talking about! I repeat for the ‘especially smart ones:’ I spoke negatively not against the Russian army, but against war criminals,” Ilyas Soltaev emphasized.
