Azerbaijani border guard suspected of killing colleagues

For some unknown reason, one of the servicemen opened fire on his colleagues at the Azerbaijani frontier post "Gubadly"; as a result, three persons perished. The shooter threw down his firearm and disappeared; he was put on the wanted list.

The information about the murder of three servicemen on the territory of a separate frontier unit "Gubadly" came to the Azerbaijani State Frontier Service in the evening on January 2.

The preliminary investigation has shown that Junior Sergeant Avazli Elkhan Magomed oglu, a serviceman of extra-urgent active military service, opened fire from his service firearm for unknown reasons. As a result of his shooting, the servicemen of the border post in which he served were killed – Senior Lieutenant Ismayilov Yusif Ismayil oglu, Junior Warrant Officer Jalilzade Amil Fuar oglu and Junior Warrant Officer Ibrahimov Rafail Natig oglu, the "Trend" reports.

The search for the gunman is currently underway. A criminal case has been opened in the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Gubadli District, the APA reports.
