Azeri authorities report transfer of apartments to families of perished soldiers

Before the New Year, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection handed over the keys to 80 new apartments built in the city of Ganja to families of victims and disabled people of the 2020 Karabakh war, the "haqqin.az" has reported citing the Ministry.

All the apartments are located in the residential complex, which is being built by the order of the State Agency for Housing Construction. According to Vyusal Nasirli, Deputy Minister, in 2021, people from these categories received 3000 new apartments.

According to the Deputy Minister, since the start of 2021, the provision of housing to families of casualties and invalids of the 44-day-long war is made "soon after they get registered." By the end of the year, 41,000 people were provided with "47,000 social services," the above outlet writes.

Minister Nasirli has noted that the 2021 housing programme was expanded fivefold compared to the three previous years. Thus, by the end of 2021, more than 12,100 families of those who perished and became invalids during the war received apartments and individual houses from the Ministry, the "Trend" News Agency reports.

In 2018, people from these categories received 626 apartments; in 2019 – 934 ones, and in 2020 – 1572 apartments. By the end of 2025, it is planned to provide 11,000 more apartments and individual houses to the families of those who perished and became invalids during the war, the "Trend" reports.
