Social network users outraged by Dagestani officials' inaction in purchases for sick children

Children with type one diabetes began receiving sensors for flash monitoring systems only after the intervention of Sergey Melikov, said Magomed Beibulatov, the father of a child with diabetes. Instagram users were outraged by the fact that involvement of the region head is needed to solve such problems.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Dagestani Ministry of Public Health (MPH) promised to provide 460 children suffering from type one diabetes with modern flash monitoring systems back in October, but by December 15, the systems had not been purchased; and a number of parents went to court.

The above Magomed Beibulatov has reported that issuance of sensors for flash monitoring systems to parents of children with type one diabetes has begun in Dagestan.

The publication of the "Caucasian Knot" attracted the attention of the republic's leadership to the problem, the "Patient Monitor" human rights project has reported. "We gave an interview to the 'Caucasian Knot', and after that, Magomedali Salamov, an adviser to the head of Dagestan, contacted me. He promised that the monitoring systems will be available by December 25. Good news is that Sergey Melikov took the matter under his personal control," says the message posted on the Telegram channel of the project on December 19.

The information that in order to provide children with flash monitoring systems demanded the interference of the republic's leadership, and personally of Sergey Melikov, was posted on December 24 on the Instagram public dag.one. Social network users have expressed their bewilderment at the fact that urgent problems can't be solved in the republic without the interference of the head thereof.

"For the bureaucrats to perform their direct duties, the republic's head must interfere," the user nebeshkan has commented. "This is the case everywhere, in all the municipalities; it's necessary for the head to interfere and force officials to work in their posts and perform their duties. Until a problem reaches the region head, it is not solved," the user mamaeva666 has noted.
