Makhachkala: Gadjiev's colleagues hold pickets in his support

At their four solo pickets held in Makhachkala, Dagestani journalists demanded to release Abdulmumin Gadjiev, stop arrests without proofs and persecuting journalists; they also called for the release of political prisoners.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that solo pickets are regularly held in Makhachkala in support of Abdulmumin Gadjiev, a journalist of the "Chernovik" (Draft) portal.

According to investigators, Abdulmumin Gadjiev, as well as Abubakar Rizvanov, the head of the "Ansar" Charity Fund, and Kemal Tambiev, raised money for terrorists under the pretext of building mosques and helping poor Muslims.

On December 20, four solo pickets were held in Makhachkala at the intersection of Dakhadaev Street and Rasul Gamzatov Avenue, Idris Yusupov, a journalist, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The first picket with a demand of freedom for Abdulmumin Gadjiev and to stop his criminal prosecution was held by Magomed Magomedov, the deputy editor-in-chief of the "Chernovik", Idris Yusupov said. The second picket with the demand "to stop arrests without proof" was held by Magdi Kamalov, the founder of the "Chernovik". The third picket with the poster demanding freedom to all political prisoners was held by Idris Yusupov himself; and the fourth picket with the poster demanding freedom to journalism was held by Murad Muradov, a Dagestani journalist.
