Two residents of Azerbaijan killed in a mine explosion

In the Shusha District, two young workers involved in restoration work were killed in a mine explosion, the Azerbaijani police reported.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on November 29, a civilian was blown up by a mine while carrying out repair and construction work on the territory of the village of Mekhdili in the Djebrail District. According to the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), as of November 30, 73 civilians were blown up by mines in the territories that came under the control of Azerbaijan since the end of the combat actions. Of them, 24 were killed.

Today, at about 9:00 a.m., in the village of Dashalty in the Shusha District, a resident of the Ismayilli District and a resident of the Gobustan District, who were performing their duties during the restoration work, were killed, the press service for the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported. “They were killed being blown up by a mine planted by Armenian military units,” the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent was informed by the MIA’s press service.

The General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan reported that deceased 22-year-old Orkhan Khanatov worked for the “Voltach” contracting company, and 29-year-old Vyusal Gandiev worked for the “Cengiz İnşaat” construction company.
