In Dagestan camp, 62 residents of Azerbaijan wait for border opening

In the "Ogonyok" children's camp located in the Kaitag District of Dagestan, 62 Azerbaijanis are waiting for a permit to cross the land border and return home.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a temporary accommodation centre (TAC) for Azerbaijani citizens who are waiting for the opening of the state border had been organized in the territory of the above summer children's camp. According to Dagestani rescuers, on November 16, almost all the Azerbaijani citizens were transported across the border; and as of November 24, there were two people left in it. Citizens of Azerbaijan prefer to use air flights as not to wait for weeks in Dagestan for the temporary opening of the land border, Afig Allakhverdiev, a human rights defender, has explained.

The temporary TAC for Azerbaijani citizens now hosts 62 people, including four women and four children, a source from the Dagestani Chief Department of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
