Head of “Gulagu.net” reports about death of a Chechen native in penal colony

Today, Vladimir Osechkin, the head of the human rights project “Gulagu.net”, has reported that warders beat prisoners in a penal colony in the Primorsky Territory (Primorye), and after that Khusein Adakhanov, a native of Chechnya, who was serving his sentence in the penal colony, died. According to Vladimir Osechkin, as a result of a special operation by warders in the penal colony, about 150 prisoners were beaten, and other 16 people were severely injured.

Vladimir Osechkin has informed the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent today about the death of the prisoner from Chechnya before the start of the broadcast. The human rights defender reported the details of the incident on the “Gulagu.net” YouTube channel.

According to Vladimir Osechkin, on the night of December 3, 16 KAMAZ trucks with special forces fighters of the Federal Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN), the FSB, and the National Guard of Russia arrived at one of the penal colonies in Primorye. “There were no protests in the penal colony,” Vladimir Osechkin reported during a live broadcast. According to the human rights defender, the arrival of the law enforcement fighters was preceded by a provocation.

The human rights defender noted that the special operation began in the penal colony at 6:00 a.m. on December 3. “More than 250 law enforcers broke into the penal colony. At least 16 prisoners suffered serious damage to their health state. They were brought to SIZOs (pre-trial prisons) No. 2, 3, and 4 in the Primorsky Territory. More than 150 people were beaten. As a result of severe injuries and traumas, Khusein Adakhanov, a native of Chechnya, died a day later from heart failure,” Vladimir Osechkin said. According to the human rights defender, Khusein Adakhanov was 40 years old.
