Residents of Armenian village report a shelling attack

After shelling attacks in the direction of the Karmir Shouka (the Azerbaijani name is Qırmızı Bazar, – note of the “Caucasian Knot”) community, the Ombudsperson of Nagorno-Karabakh demanded to immediately remove the positions of the Azerbaijani troops from the vicinity of the villages. Residents of the village confirmed a shelling attack from the Azerbaijani side.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that Armenia and Azerbaijan regularly exchange accusations of shelling attacks. On November 23, a soldier was killed in the Gegarkunik Region after a shelling attack from the Azerbaijani positions, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia reported. The Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan stated that no fire was opened in the indicated direction.

“On December 2, Azerbaijan fired small arms at the Armenian positions near the Karmir Shouka community in the Martuni District of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). Some bullets reached the houses and gardens of civilians,” Nagorno-Karabakh Ombudsperson Gegam Stepanyan wrote on Facebook.

The Ombudsperson has emphasized that “the Azerbaijani side continues its criminal actions against the people of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), their lives and inviolability, and violates the ceasefire and agreements.”

Valya Sargsyan, a resident of the Karmir Shouka community, said that in the morning, she heard clear shots in the direction of their village.

Residents of Karmir Shouka do not panic: they are engaged in their everyday routine, Amaliya Sarkisyan states.
